Evan Young

Evan, founder of Broadleaf Behavioral Services, began his journey into this field as a peer mentor while in high school in Louisa, KY. Evan continued into college where he obtained his Bachelors in Moderate & Severe Disabilities at Morehead State University and then onward to earning his Masters in Learning & Behavioral Disabilities from Northern Kentucky University. After spending nearly a decade in the classrooms of Northern Kentucky as a Specialized Unit Instructor & Autism Intervention Specialist, his passion took him a different direction where he transitioned as a Behavioral Support Specialist within the SCL and MPW program. After several years in the waiver program, Evan opened the doors of Broadleaf in 2021 to fulfill the needs of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in our region. He excels at empowering his team of clinicians to provide top-quality services and needed support to their clients. Evan is married to his wife Erin and has one daughter Emily. He’s a native of Eastern Kentucky but has lived in Northern Kentucky with his wife Erin since 2007. Together they enjoy spending time at sporting events, horse shows and anything outdoors.

Meet The Team

Jon Corson

Jon has worked in the behavioral health field for over 13 years, supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities. Throughout his career, he has worked in clinical, residential and school-based settings. He holds a passion for working with children and young adults with disabilities and helping them achieve meaningful life outcomes for themselves and their families. Jon is also currently working towards Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA) at the Florida Institute of Technology. He holds a Masters Degree in Special Education from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Northern Kentucky University. In his free time, Jon can be found cheering on the Bengals or in the gym lifting cars and tossing boulders. Yes, you heard that right!….Jon competes on a national level through Strongman Corporation and is also 2023’s Cincinnati’s Strongest Man (Masters Division Superheavyweight). Jon is known to draw from these experiences and promotes a “strength-based” approach to skill development…. educating, empowering and encouraging others to reach for the best version of themselves.

Patti Talbert

Patti completed a double Bachelors in Communication and Psychology from Thomas More University in 2009. She then continued on to complete her Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2016 from Ball State University. Her favorite college teams to root on are from Thomas More University, University of Kentucky and loves to watch the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cyclones. Patti enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, as well as their two adorable pets. One unique thing about her is that she is a certified open water scuba diver. In her downtime she enjoys traveling, watching movies/tv, photography, crafts with her son, and experiencing new things and activities with my family. Patti has been working with waivers clients since 2012 in a variety of roles, including case management, community living supports and her current role as a Behavior Support Specialist.

Courtney Stephens

Courtney is a former elementary school teacher where she taught for over 8 years. She received her Bachelor in Elementary Education at University of Kentucky and her Masters in Education from the University of the Cumberlands. Courtney shares that she always had an interest in working with people with disabilities and absolutely loves this job, her clients, and their families. In her spare time, she loves being a mom to her three littles ones, reading, shopping, and barre class.

Hope Bergfeld

Hope is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with her kids, crafting and is even a baker! This Union, Kentucky resident will cheer on the Bengals however is truly an Indianapolis Colts fan. Hope obtained her Bachelors in Special Education from University of Toledo and her Master in Special Education from Graceland University. She also holds her certification in Applied Behavioral Analysis from the University of Cincinnati. Together with her husband, they have a 5-year-old son and 20-month twins.

Shannon Russell

Shannon is a hometown supporter of athletics and all things local. She enjoys the arts, festivals, entertainment and the foods of our region. Shannon received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters in Education in the Foundations of Behavior Analysis, from the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, she has been a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst since 2015 and licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Kentucky. As a resident of Northern Kentucky, she stays busy raising her 3 teenagers and loving on her Maltese named Burton. In her downtime her and her family enjoy spending time at their summer home in Brookville, IN where they boat, camp, and play golf! Prior to her time in this field Shannon was a licensed Cosmetologist!

Taylor Waters

Taylor has a passion for working with individuals with disabilities to help set and reach goals! She enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with her 2 kids and husband. Similar to many others in this area she loves to attend sporting events and a time out enjoying some live music! Taylor received her Bachelor of elementary education and LBD and her Masters in Teacher as Leader and MSD, from the Northern Kentucky University. Prior to her time with Broadleaf, Taylor taught in specialized classrooms for 10 years in the NKY area.

Stephanie Weddle

Stephanie is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati. Her undergraduate degree came from Wilmington College where she received a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Previously she loved teaching at a Head Start in Cincinnati, where she developed her passion for working with individuals with special behavioral needs. In her downtime, she runs a nonprofit dog rescue organization where she focuses on fostering dogs with special medical or behavior needs. Her time with her family includes Friday family game nights, going to sporting events and being a huge Bengals fan! Who Dey

Dawn Forte

Dawn is currently celebrating her 17th year in education, including the time where her and Evan worked together in a Special Education unit. Her education in the field came from Northern Kentucky University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s with a focus in Teacher Leadership. During her downtime Dawn loves to spend her time camping, kayaking, and hiking with my wife; basically, anything outdoors is her thing!
